Mr. Luc Pigeon , P.Geo, Qualified Person
Mr. Pigeon holds a Bachelor’s degree with Honors (Cum Laude) in Earth Sciences from the University of Ottawa, and a Master of Science degree in Geology from the same university. He is fluent in Spanish, English and French.
Mr. Pigeon worked for the Ontario Geological Survey as a senior field geologist during four seasons. He is the first author of a Geological Survey of Ontario 1: 20000 map sheet covering three townships of the gold prolific Abitibi Greenstone belt near Kirkland Lake, Ontario. From 2004, he worked with Falconbridge Exploration in Timmins, Ontario, where he oversaw the logistically challenging field operations of several helicopter-supported remote drilling projects. In late 2006, after leading the Anniversary drilling program of the Pacifica Resources Howard’s Pass zinc, lead, silver deposit in the Yukon. He moved to Lima, Peru to pursue his career in South America.
In 2007, Mr. Pigeon reviewed and authored an independent Technical Report on the La Española Project. Mr. Pigeon also briefly reviewed the Silveria Project site in 2007; event that coincided with the 9.0 earthquake that devastated parts of Peru. In April 2008, he founded Gateway Solutions S.A.C., a Peruvian Corporation offering mineral exploration services, geological data analyses, technical due diligence and surveying to the international mining industry operating in Peru.
Mr. Pigeon has authored three other 43-101 reports in 2008, including one 43-101 compliant Inferred Resource Estimate of a 60 million ton iron deposit in Cusco, Peru.
Mr. Pigeon is a Professional Geologist registered with the Ordre des Géologues du Québec (No. 849) and is a Qualified Person in the sense of NI43-101 in the fields of Mineral Exploration, Petrology of Igneous Rocks, Rock and Mineral Chemistry, Geochemistry and Geological Data Analyses.
Oscar Alvarado, P. Eng
At present, Mr. Alvarado is the technical director of Kazakhmys PLS, a Kazakhstan company, and is responsible for overseeing four new mining projects, and the refurbishment, modernization and expansion of the existing 16 underground and four open-pit mines. He also oversees the operation of 10 concentrators, two copper smelter/refineries and one zinc hydro met plant. The current capital expenditures for these projects are $1.4-billion (U.S.). Mr. Alvarado is also responsible for defining corporate strategies for acquisitions and advising the CEO/chairman of Kazakhmys on merger and acquisitions, and takeover strategies.
Mr. Alvarado has previously worked for the International Finance Corp. in Washington, a section of the World Bank, as the principal mining engineer, investment officer. His role was to monitor a multibillion, United States investment portfolio and conduct due diligence on mining and smelter projects for potential investment by the IFC. Mr. Alvarado also worked as a study manager for the open-pit option during the prefeasibility study for BHP-Billiton/WMC Resources at the Olympic Dam project in Australia. At the South Deep gold mine in South Africa, he worked as a manager of strategic planning for Placer Dome.
Mr. Alvarado also worked for Noranda as a team leader during the acquisitions of Alto Norte in Chile and Antamina in Peru. He then moved to Canada and continued to work for Noranda developing the "direct ore smelting" method for Eskay Creek and developing projects in New Brunswick. During his time in Canada, he enrolled at Queen's University and completed a master of science in mineral economics in 1988.
Peter Childers, MBA
Mr. Childers holds degrees from Yale University and Duke University and has engaged in venture advising and board service in software, e-commerce, learning, clean technology and energy. He is currently the President and CEO of Utility Scale Solar Inc., a California-based developer of solar energy utilites and components. He is an innovator with considerable experience advising and growing businesses across multiple sectors.He developed an extensive network of contacts while assisting in the growth of Red Hat Inc.(NYSE: RHAT) from the IPO stage to Nasdaq and then NYSE listing.
Dr. Alfonso Alvarez Calderon
Dr. Alvarez Calderón is a Peruvian attorney with a Masters Degree in Comparative Jurisprudence from the New York University School of Law (1970) and has a Masters Degree in Business Administration from ESAN University, Peru (1971). He is also a certified conciliator of the Ministry of Justice of Peru (since 2000), an arbitrator on several arbitration centers, including the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre. Dr. Alvarez Calderón is Honorary Consul of Trinidad and Tobago in Peru since 2000 and a senior Partner of Estudio Alvarez Calderon - Abogados, since 1987. He has 15 years of experience in international banking in Lima, New York, London, Caracas and Bahrain, and has been a consultant to Canadian junior mining companies during the past 15 years.
